Accessing Privowny as a Registered User
When you sign up for Privowny, we require a minimum amount of information about you: your full name, email address and mobile phone number.
When PrivownyBar is activated in your browser (
to get information on how to download and activate Bar), it allows you to collect and store all information that you leave on websites, such as IP addresses, usernames, email addresses, data you input on a web form, etc. This information is stored in your PrivownySphere (
to know more about PrivownySphere). Bar will store your passwords in encrypted form that only you can access (decrypt; see
). However, in a small number of cases, a password may be collected if you allow Bar to do so or if Bar cannot recognize that the input field is a password field. In that situation, we recommend you encrypt that password for security purposes or delete it from your PrivownySphere.
If you register as a Privowny user, we will collect and use your log-in (email address and your Privowny password) for technical and security purposes. We will not use any information that you have collected without your authorization.
Any information Privowny collects is merely to compile usage statistics (using aggregated data) in order to improve usage of our Website and service but not to identify you.
The reason for collecting and storing the information and data is to allow you to take control of your own data, help you track it and provide you with services to help you gain control over your data.
When you disable PrivownyBar, no information is collected by PrivownyBar.
